Renée joined Decato Law Office in July 2006, after clerking with an estate and trust, business and tax planning counselor for nearly four years. Her practice focuses primarily in these areas of transactional law.
Renée is a native of New York State. She achieved her associates degree in court reporting from Herkimer College in 1990, and she has since worked in the legal field for over twenty years. The majority of this time was devoted to owning and operating her court reporting business, and she also instructed court reporting classes at her alma mater. This interaction with the legal system, in addition to her husband being a law enforcement officer, furthered her interest in the law, and eventually led to her obtaining her bachelors degree from the State University of New York in 1999, and her juris doctorate from Vermont Law School in 2003.
Renée is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Vermont. She advises clients regarding their estate planning, she has administered estates, trusts and guardianships through the probate process, and she has assisted business, tax and elderly clients in resolving issues. She also has experience in assisting clients with real estate and family law matters and social security disability claims.
Renée is a certified marital mediator with the State of New Hampshire, and she anticipates offering these services to Decato Law Office’s Vermont clients in the near future. She is also the chair of the Decato Law Office marketing committee.
Renée and her husband have made their home in Norwich, Vermont. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and pets. You may catch a glimpse of her teaching a class or volunteering at a local food bank or animal shelter.. On any given Sunday, she can be found cooking in her kitchen or relaxing on the shore in Maine.
