Janine was born in Woodsville, New Hampshire, but was raised in Bradford, Vermont, where many of her family members still have roots. Recently she has made her home in Lebanon, New Hampshire. After attending the University of Hartford and Castleton State College, she joined the Decato Law Office in November 1988, answering the firm’s advertisement for a "Gal Friday". Twenty-one years later, when asked, Janine still does not know what a "Gal Friday" is. Instead, she immediately dove into paralegal work, specializing in medical care collections, and eventually her duties expanded to include the areas of probate, real estate, civil litigation, family law, and corporate law. Janine works with all four Decato Law Office attorneys, and her tasks include: interacting with clients, preparing probate accountings, drafting pleadings, and title research. When asked what she likes best about her job, she is eager to answer: "I enjoy my job – the variety, the interaction with people, the problem-solving challenges. Yes, it's high stress and fast-paced, but the clients make it worthwhile; it all works out in the end."
Whether she is at work or at home, "J9" is our resident sports nut, and the quintessential Red Sox fan, with an extensive baseball card and memorabilia collection. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Beth, her son, Keith, her cat, "Dusty", and her Guinea pig, "Snickers".
